Conference Room Pilot Process

Conference Room Pilot Process: A Key Step in ERP Implementation

Implementing a new ERP system can be complex, but the Conference Room Pilot Process minimizes risk and uncertainty by thoroughly evaluating your business processes. This essential step occurs at the start of implementation, focusing on understanding the gap between your current legacy system and AIM Vision ERP. By addressing potential issues upfront, this process ensures a smoother transition and better long-term results.

What Is the Conference Room Pilot Process?

The Conference Room Pilot Process is a structured approach to validating and refining your ERP implementation plan. It identifies where your business processes are today and defines where you want them to go with AIM software. Spending time upfront to examine current workflows and data processing needs helps streamline the implementation, reducing rework and delays.

Key Components of the Conference Room Pilot Process

This process includes several critical steps to ensure a successful ERP rollout:

  • Validating Processes: Confirm that your workflows align with AIM Vision ERP’s capabilities.
  • Simulating Transactions: Test end-to-end transactions to uncover potential gaps.
  • Analyzing Integration Impacts: Understand how the new system will integrate with existing processes.
  • Surfacing Issues and Barriers: Identify differing viewpoints, potential issues, and barriers to adoption.
  • Testing Exceptions: Evaluate how the system handles unique scenarios or exceptions.
  • Documenting Process Changes: Record any necessary adjustments to current workflows for optimal performance.
  • Defining Cut-Over Activities: Plan the transition from your legacy system to AIM Vision ERP for a seamless go-live.

Why the Conference Room Pilot Process Matters

By conducting a thorough Conference Room Pilot, AIM ensures that your ERP implementation is tailored to your specific business needs. This step sets the foundation for:

  • A well-organized rollout strategy.
  • Reduced risk of delays and errors.
  • Optimized training schedules and module implementation timing.
  • Improved long-term performance of your new ERP system.

  • Over the past seven years, our company has been working with AIM Vision. The software has provided us with a great solution for Repetitive Manufacturing and is very strong in providing a solid solution for EDI, Inventory Control, Production Posting, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving. On the Accounting side the software talks seamlessly with Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Overall, we have been happy with the Support from AIM and the overall software. Great Group of people and they are based out of Michigan. Prior to AIM Vision, we used another ERP package for over 7-years and walked away from it; then moved over to AIM Vision.

  • I like the system's versatility because you can use it just to translate the EDI protocols or to ship all your finished goods and labeling system using Kanban systems; it will ensure the correct performance of your shipping process.

  • Before AIM we didn't really have inventory control, we were guessing at everything.  Now with AIM Vision we have better inventory control, we know what we have, where it is, what warehouse it is in; I'd have to say it's about 97% accurate.
